Malaysia.travel showed its important tourism offer, mixing the most modern buildings with the most traditional ones such as the Petronas Towers, the Putra World Trade Center, the Istana Negara, the king’s palace, mosques like Masjid Negara or Masjid Jamek and the Parliament building or the Bird Park … The rich diversity and culture of the country and its wide variety of tourist attractions, crafts and cuisine completed the offer.This is a very good opportunity for the country and its tourism promotion since the long-term goal of the Asian country is to reach 36 million tourist arrivals and an income of 37.1 billion euros by 2020.

The Ministry of Tourism and Culture of Malaysia and the ITB Berlin Fair announced that the Southeast Asian nation will be the official partner country in the 2019 edition of the event.

Indonesia.travel: Wonderful Indonesia

Indonesia.travel focused on promoting its image as a safe and worthy country to visit, showed its diverse culture and nature as its most competitive advantages, also focusing on spreading the potential in the maritime sector. Its exotic sandy beaches, its vast green areas, its history, its good climate, its spectacular landscapes, its rich biodiversity and its friendly and welcoming people … are a good attraction as a tourist destination. The government’s vision is, by the year 2020, to position Sri Lanka as the most treasured and greenest island in the world and to attract tourists while preserving the country’s cultural values, natural habitats and environment.

Egypt.travel: Exciting and unbeatable destination

Egypt.travel returned to the fair in 2018 with a bigger stand, and it was promoted as an exciting and unbeatable destination that has not lost its splendor. The German market is very important for the country; the number of German tourists who visited Egypt last year was 1.234 million, and they emphasized the work that is being done to increase this figure by the end of the current year.

Argentina.travel: A little inspiration from Argentina

Diversity of landscapes, cultural offers and an interesting regional gastronomy: these are some of the reasons why it is interesting to travel to Argentina.travel, which was reflected in this edition of ITB Berlin. It featured a virtual reality space, Argentina 360, and a complete agenda with multiple activities to promote the latest tourism trends and the Argentine culture to visitors. The Honduran Tourism Institute continues to promote Honduras in Europe. Honduras.travel also presented in ITB Berlin the great variety of tourist attractions that the country possesses. Colombia.travel promoted the new international tourism campaign, ‘Colombia, Tierra de la Sabrosura’. Their experiential stand was a large musical box that offered small live concerts, salsa lessons, cumbia or vallenato, demonstrations of typical instruments such as the marimba and tasting of traditional dishes. Colombia received three awards at ITB Berlin, both for its stand and for being one of the most sustainable destinations on the planet.

VisitParaguay.travel: Destination located in the heart of South America

VisitParaguay.travel chose to present itself as a destination located in the heart of South America, with innovative offerings in cultural tourism, agroindustry, nature and adventure, segments that captured the attention of European tourists. Within the framework of the fair, the country promoted the Ruta de la Yerba Mate, a product promoted by the National Tourism Secretariat (Senatur), with the name in Guarani “Ka’a Rape”, as an option to encourage the southern zone and the referred native item of the country. Yerba mate is a legacy of the Guarani, and its plant has a great cultural representation in Paraguay as it is the main ingredient of the traditional drink, tereré.

ITB Berlin closed its doors with 110,000 professional visitors. During the five days of the fair, more than 10,000 exhibiting companies from 186 countries and regions gathered in the German capital in the 26 halls of the fairgrounds.
